Members at Large

Andrea McCabe
Member at Large

Andrea McCabe is a co-owner of The Lemongrass Tours and Treasures Group Inc., a boutique tour company and import business, which allows her to host tours to Vietnam and India as well as to import goods from those countries. Before joining Lemongrass, Andrea worked in the film industry as an Assitant Director organizing and scheduling various multi-million dollar films and television shows. Because of the seasonal nature of the film business, she was able to spend anywhere from 2 to 5 months travelling each year.

Passionate about getting out and exploring the world since her first trip to Paris as a teenager, leading tours to Vietnam and India is a dream come true. Endlessly curious about other cultures, she has traipsed around the world often ending up “on the ground” during interesting times. She travelled Europe at the time of the Falklands war and Africa, including South Africa, at a time when apartheid was still in full force. She has travelled extensively in the Middle East, where she lived on an Israeli kibbutz for a year that coincided with the start of the first intifada. She spent more than a year travelling, living and working in Australia and New Zealand – an uneventful year as it happens. She has also travelled through Central and South America, learning Spanish on the rooftops of buses while driving through Chiapas Mexico during the 2nd uprising of the Zapatistas. In February, 1997, she found herself in Ecuador during the 48-hour general strike staged to force President Abdala Bucaram, known as “El Loco”, out of office.
